Freehand Continuous Lines (3-hour class)
Friday,  April 17th 9am – 12pm
There’s no stopping. Create flowing designs by connecting simple design elements with continuous lines. Learn how to apply designs and fill
areas evenly, whether quilting edge to edge or in specific spaces. Plus, learn how to handle the machine for the best results.
Skills Featured:
  • Applying designs and fill space evenly
  • Handling the machine when quilting different designs
  • Dot-to-dot quilting
  • Various methods for connecting design elements
  • Making your own
Creative Textures and Fills (3-hour class)
Friday,  April 17th 1pm – 4pm
Once you learn rulers, you won’t want to miss this class. Fills are creative design elements used to quilt the background and empty spaces of a primary quilting or block design. Whether elegant, whimsical, structured, or meandering, there is a style to compliment every space.
Skills Featured:
  • Effects produced by variety of fill designs, in relation to primary design
  • Selecting appropriate fills to compliment design
  • Scaling the fill design size appropriately
  • Evenly placing and spacing fills

Sixteen Tips for Sweet Success (3-hour class)

Do you want to quilt your own tops, but don’t have space for a longarm? Are you quilting now on a sewingmachine, but frustrated with the space and uneven stitches? Moda Piece and Comfort Challenge 2015

Challenge Rules:

WHO: All quilters who would like to create a beautiful quilt to honor a military family in their circle of friends, the community, or the nation.

WHEN: Challenge begins January 1, 2015 thru March 31, 2015

• Challenge quilts will be displayed at local quilt shop April 6 – 18.
• Customers may vote for their favorites. Each shop’s Viewers’ Choice winner will receive a prize.
• A digital image of the Viewers’ Choice winner from each shop will be entered in Moda’s Piece and Comfort online quilt show.

Beverly presented our shops Sunflowers quilt to Darlene Brockway of Blanco.

Lisa Skouby of Magnolia will be receiving her quilt kit, it is already in the mail. She won “Stoney River” quilt kit from Stonehenge.

We had a great time last month, hope everyone enjoyed traveling across our great state for the Quilt Across Texas.

The 2-3-4 Road Trip!!!

Alright everybody, it’s almost time for another 2-3-4 Road Trip – starting tomorrow!!! We’re so excited to be a part of this fun tradition again, and you can find all of the details right here…

2 Days – October 4-5, 2013

  • Scheduled Demonstrations at each shop at 10:00, 12:00, 2:00, & 4:00 each day
  • Shopping Hours: Friday & Saturday: 9:00am – 5:30 pm
  • Free Pattern and block fabric kit given at each shop for participation in the demo.
  • And of course, refreshments!

The drive between each of the 4 shops is just a little over 30 minutes, all along a scenic route through the Texas Hill Country that avoids city traffic.

Continuing with our celebration we will have all our fall, Halloween & Christmas collections 20% off. Don’t forget the 2 trunk shows in The Cottage : Martingale’s Fat Quarter Quilts & Texas Flair by Doris Rice. The 3rd trunk show will be in The Shop featuring wonderful bags from Colorado, “Totes by Sandy.” We are a featured shop in Texas to carry her patterns.

Surprise! Our local sewing machine repair man Vince, with V & L Sewing Machine Repair, will be here to sharpen your scissors for just $5 a pair in honor of our Grand Opening!

Dixie Bradbury will be giving demonstrations all day with her “Template Techniques: CATS: Cut Accurate Triangle Squares.” Several vendors will be here in the afternoon to showcase their collections: Moda, Andover, P & B, MM Fab, Wilmington, Benartex, just to name a few. You won’t want to miss the great display by our very own Nina Lafosse with the new “Quilt Across Texas” collection. She is one of our talented teachers, known as “The Bag Lady.”

Be sure to stop in The Studio to see all of the class samples, meet with the teachers & get registered for that special class. We have over 35 affordable classes for you to choose from! Walk in The Shop & fill out a little tag with your name. You may be one of the lucky winners of our numerous door prizes – you must be present to win.

Stop by The Studio & check out all our classes. Walk over to The Cottage to view the great trunk shows & grab a bite to eat! Before you leave be sure to buy that lucky ticket to win the amazing Donation Quilt from the Vereins Quilt Guild. They are $1 each or 6 for $5 – what a bargain to benefit a great cause.

We are also very excited to announce that our quilt was accepted into the Houston Quilt Show! And don’t forget the Chamber Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be at 5:30pm.
